I'm John J Heartfield, John Heartfeld's paternal grandson and the curator of my grandfather's online exhibition, The Official John Heartfield Exhibition & Archive at heartfieldexhibition.comDavid King's book is simply one of the finest I've ever read about my grandfather. The pages are rich with many very high quality John Heartfield images. I especially enjoyed the manner in which they are presented. The original maquette on one side and the corresponding AIZ cover on the other. This allows to reader to view the many artistic nuances of Heartfield's work that are lost in the mass reproductions.This book is an absolute must-read for anyone with an interest in John Heartfield and his work.
